A coming of age story that anyone can relate to in some way. The main character is very real and multidimensional. You get where she's coming from. Some will love lizzie, while others will hate her. Watch Me Disappear is an addicting read, and if you're looking for a good contemporary read, this is it!

James Character Bio:

Everyone has heroes. Some like Spiderman, Batman, the Avengers, sure, even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are awesome, but James’s hero is a bit closer to home. His big brother Paul. And when Dominic changes James to match Paul, a small part of James is glad – another trait he and Paul have in common.

They’re different in looks like peanut butter and jelly. James is tall and thin – a runner, while Paul is huskier like a football player. Girls like muscles and, oh man, the girls like Paul. 

James’s favorite memory with his brother involves dirt biking. They rode all over the place as kids and James missed their time together. Since the escape to Idaho, James has enjoyed more time with his brother. He’s not too fond of the virus, but hunting together and fighting Dominic has made him feel like his family is on the mend.

Nancy was born in Sioux City Iowa, left the cold of the Midwest in 1991 and only returns to see family in the summer time. She spent ten years traveling the world as a US Marine and settled in rural SC with her husband and two children.

She enjoyes reading all types of Paranormal and Young Adult literature.

Review: 

Dead Perfect is a story about love, forgiveness, and the ability to let go of the past and move on to the future. For Mel, Davis, Donna, Joanie, and Franky, this story began with a car accident, though at different points in time. What happens after this terrible event is heartbreak, guilt, anger, love and ultimately, forgiveness.

I was a little confused in the first half of the book, but that quickly changed when the truth was revealed in the second half. Dead Perfect is emotionally charged and the story just pulls you in. I know that when a book makes me feel something so emotionally strong, like Dead Perfect did, that it is a must read. I was left misty-eyed at the end, and that's a little embarrassing when you're in a library computer lab where everyone can see you crying, LOL! But this is such a beautiful story and I'm glad that I chose to pick it up.

About this Author:

Born in California, and raised in Minnesota and Texas, P.G. spent her early years writing poetry and winning poetry contests, while escaping the drama in her own childhood by reading great books for children. Ever since her earliest days, she loved story telling. She wrote numerous short stories in High School and her early college years, continually trying to relive that first experience at the age of seven of seeing her name in print in the local newspaper.

P.G. sought her education at the University of Texas, where she studied English, literature, and Education. During the entire process of earning her BA and M.Ed, she never stopped writing and trying to be published.  It was during this time that her first children’s book No More Stinkbugs!  was accepted for publication by Castle Keep Press. Many of her stories develop from nature.

P.G. graduated college and began her career in education, another great world that offered real experiences to humor and delight through children’s books. She watched children interact, bringing to surface her own experiences as a child and yet more events to write about. While teaching, she discovered many great books for young people, such as The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963, Maniac Magee, So. B. It and many more. She is a fan of Dean Koontz novels, too, and loves reading fantasy and paranormal books.

P.G. was married 20 years in March 2012 and has a bright, young daughter who has begun her own college career. She lives on a small farm in Texas with her family and animals. P.G. has experienced great love and loss throughout her life. Those her family has lost have dedications in her books.

P.G. has two young adult books published, Dead Perfect and The Gifted Ones: The Fairytale the first book in The Gifted Ones Trilogy. She also has several children’s books written under Gean Penny, her pseudonym.  P. G. has since dissolved her contract for her first book with Castle Keep Press and moved the title to her own imprint, Gean Penny Books.

Review:

In Dancing with Death, Wendy is a senior in high school, living in a town plagued by murder after murder. The "Witchy Woods" where the murders took place is a place of fear, so when Wendy is hit by an oncoming car on a road alongside the woods, left in the ditch in her mangled car, she fears that that is how she will die. But before her car can explode she's saved by a stranger who pulls her out and takes her to the hospital. This car accident is only the beginning as Wendy's life changes forever.

There is a very good reason why I gave Dancing with Death only a 3.5. More than half of the book is just intense makeout scenes and finding the perfect outfit. I started to wonder if that was all this story was going to be about. What saved this book was the strange nightmares and messages from beyond the grave. This piqued my curiosity enough to find out what was really going on. Don't get me wrong, I like action but not when all of it is in the romantic sense. The story really picked up when Wendy and Halle found the locked chest in the attic filled with her family's secrets. Then there were the multiple murder attempts against Wendy's life. Basically I'm saying that, even if they are small, I would have liked more events to add suspense and intrigue within the first half.

I definitely wasn't expecting Wendy's secret family history to be what it was, though.  I don't want to say too much about it since I want to leave that part for readers to find out, but I will say that she is a demon and the type of demon she is really explains the changes she undergoes. I thought the story would have had something to do with Death himself from looking at the title, Dancing with Death, but it really only refers to death itself.

I mentioned intense makeout scenes and, boy, are the INTENSE. Wendy finds herself with two guys vying for her attention--Brandt Summers, the new guy from California and Matt Geyer, the new school librarian. Maybe it's my bookish ways, but I loved Matt from the very beginning. Now that is perfect--a smokin' hot male librarian. But he's also genuine, loving, and respectful. I never really liked Brandt. That's all I can really say about him--I just didn't like him at all.

The conclusion was a little anti-climatic, but the question of whether Wendy will live to see the next year leaves me wanting for the next book, Dancing with Demons.
